Local Operations in Vietnam Transitions from Bayer to Envu

The transition of operations from Bayer in Vietnam to Envu marks a significant milestone for the global environmental science company as it continues its mission of advancing healthy environments for everyone, everywhere.

[Ho Chi Minh City, 01 April 2024] – Envu, an environmental science company providing forward-thinking innovations that protect and enhance the health of environments around the world, announced today the transition of its operations in Vietnam from Bayer to Envu.

Previously the Environmental Science Professional business unit within the Crop Science Division of Bayer, Envu initially launched as an independent company in October 2022 when Cinven1, a private equity firm acquired it from Bayer. Today, the Vietnam operations join its counterparts around the world in officially operating as part of Envu.

Built on 50 years of environmental science experience, Envu is well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of pest management professionals and the industry. Presently, Envu offers dedicated products and services in: Professional Pest Management, Forestry, Ornamentals, Golf, Industrial Vegetation Management, Lawn & Landscape, Mosquito Management, and Range & Pasture.

“Our representative office in Ho Chi Minh City allows us to better understand and address the needs of our stakeholders in Vietnam, and will function as one of our key hubs for business development in Mekong by facilitating closer engagement with local partners,” said Joseph Abraham Anand, Head of Southeast Asia. “I’m looking forward to continuing our collaboration with them to develop solutions crucial to protecting rapidly growing urban areas as well as the spaces rural communities share with nature.”

Helping rice farmers protect their yield – from seed to harvest

One of the key areas that Envu supports via its local partners in Vietnam is protecting rice yields from pests. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Vietnam is the world’s fifth largest producer of rice in 20222, making it the country’s most important commodity. However, rodents can cause extensive damage to these vital crops, leading to widespread yield loss and significant economic hardship for rice farmers. The problem extends beyond the rice field, as rodents wreak havoc on stored grain as well. They also act as important vectors of diseases like Leptospirosis (Weils' Disease), which is common in agricultural areas. Envu is committed to supporting millions of farmers with providing effective rodent control products like Racumin® Tracking Powder via its local partners – which is easy to apply and flexible in its application. With low potential for secondary exposure to wildlife, products under the Racumin® range can be used as part of an integrated rodent management program.

Beyond rodent control in rice fields, through its local partners, Envu offers a comprehensive portfolio of urban pest control solutions that protects the hygiene of shared and private spaces to enhance the quality of lives of communities living in Vietnam's thriving cities.

From protecting vital rice crops, enhancing food safety to safeguarding public health, Envu is committed to its global mission of advancing healthy environments for everyone, everywhere.
